Sometimes day to day life can seriously mess with your inner peace. ✌️

A rushed morning, an silly argument with the hubby, a toddler tantrum, a forgotten work pass, a spilt drink, workload piling up and that horrible feeling of irritability that just will not subside. Until finally the slightest inconvenience tips you over the edge – oh hello mode meltdown, goodbye motivation and sometimes even a full on strop!

I find on days like this I need to consciously remove myself from the way I am feeling. I love a good yoga session (not that I get chance to do it much these days) and I especially enjoy the shavasana (the relaxing bit at the end). Whenever the request is to take myself to where I find most relaxing, it is always a beach & my breath becomes the waves – perfection right there 🐚

As often as I can, I try and remember the amazing feeling of relaxation that I feel when being transported off to my happy place in those sessions. I find it doesn’t take much – just a little bit of mindfulness can go a long way.

You don’t need long at all, in fact just 60 little seconds will do. Next time you’re feeling like it’s all to much (or is about to be) why not try this:

Might sound a bit wanky – but it’s all about being present with yourself, looking from the outside in. You are not your emotions and you can do ANYTHING, but not everything.

On Wednesdays We Brunch πŸ₯‘

I love Wednesdays! πŸ’• Since returning to work as a Social Media Manager from maternity back in June 2015, Wednesday has been my day off with my little girl, Indi-Rose.

As she has got a little older and work has got a lot busier they have unofficially become my work from home day ✌🏻 

Balancing toddlers, laptops, naps, loads of washing and a springer spaniel can be a challenge so I find that one satisfying daytime meal (for me, not Indi-Rose) is easier than two….enter brunch.

It’s got to be quick, easy, healthy and fill me with energy (salad just won’t cut it!) Today’s choice was a blogger classic πŸ₯‘ avocado toast, (but actually bagel) and was delicious. Toasted wholemeal bagel, topped with my fav fat free quark and finished off with half an avacado. Set me up perfectly for a day content creating. Why can’t it be Wednesday every day?!

Healthy week coming up πŸ‘Œ

How’s your weekend been? Kept to all those healthy habits? I know I didn’t. Start again tomorrow right?

How about getting your prep on so you’ve got a chance of this week being a little bit healthier? When the weekend crisps and gin in-take has been a little more than planned, I like to whip up some savoury muffins to take to work for lunch with some salad or snack on when I’d usually grab the crisps.

They might not look much, but they taste amazing.πŸ‘Œ

The recipe for these guys is pretty flexible but if you’ve got a 12 section muffin tin, at least 4 eggs and some veg in your fridge you are good to go…

  • vegetables! Try pepper, red onion, mushroom (add chilli 🌢️ if you like a kick) chopped very small
  • 4 eggs whisked 🍳
  • fry light spray
  • spinach (is also a nice addition)
  • or even avocadoΒ πŸ₯‘πŸ₯‘πŸ₯‘(leave this out and they are syn free)
  • Β you could add chorizo (syns here too) or chopped ham

Whisk up your eggs in a bowl and add your chopped veg (and meat if you like)

Spray each section of your muffin tin with a spray of fry light and add a spoonful of your mixture into each. Bake in the oven on 180 degrees for 25 mins and your done!

Let them cool and pop in the fridge – 2 or 3 are perfect to go with a quick salad for lunches

Give it a go.

So the reason I started this site was to see if I could begin to share & organise the thoughts, ideas and images that appear in my constantly confuddled brain on a day to day basis. I’m a Social Media Manager for some lovely brands in my day to day life and love snapping prettiness with my iPhone. So I thought it might be time to attempt to create content for me & write about the stuff that makes me happy.

Over the course of the last couple of days I’ve spent time writing notes on all the areas I could blog about! My loves, hobbies, things I want to find out more about and skills I want to learn, now just to decide what to write next – exciting times ahead ! πŸ’•

Rise and Shine✌🏻

Breakfast is definitely my favourite meal of the day…

Nothing makes me happier than waking up knowing that there’s something delicious waiting for me in the fridge (food is life!πŸ™ŒπŸΌ) so overnight oats are it.

My favourite has to be:

  • 30g rolled oats
  • A handful of frozen raspberries
  • 2 large chopped strawberries
  • Covered with fat free vanilla yoghurt
  • A sprinkling of chia seeds

Prep the night before, layer the oats in a kilner jar, followed by the fruit and cover with the yoghurt & finally sprinkle those magic little seeds.

Your oats will soak up all the yumminess of the fruit and yoghurt and you’ll be left with a cheesecake type, sweet breakfast that you won’t be able to get enough of. Healthy, delicious and ready as soon as you open your peepers.
